Hotel King in Rome has a prime location, making it easy to explore nearby attractions like the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. However, I encountered several issues during my stay, including a room that didn't match the advertised photos and uncomfortable bedding. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, the overall experience left much to be desired, especially considering the price I paid.

Rooms
5.0
My room was a letdown, looking nothing like the pictures. The air conditioning was cracked, and there were visible signs of wear and tear. The bed was rock hard, and the pillows felt thin. With a view of the fire escape, the room was dull and dark, which was disappointing.
Service
6.0
The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. Although there were some maintenance issues with my first room, the staff did their best to address my concerns. They were quick to provide extra pillows upon request, which was appreciated.
Location

The hotel’s location is fantastic, just a short walk to major sites like the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. I found it very convenient for exploring the historic parts of Rome and easily accessible via the metro.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast offerings were basic but decent, featuring a mix of cereals, eggs, and pastries. While not extravagant, it was enough to start my day. The rooftop terrace for breakfast was a nice touch, allowing for a pleasant dining experience.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel's facilities showed signs of age and could use some renovations. Despite being well-maintained in some areas, there were aspects that felt outdated or lacking, such as having to pay extra for basic amenities like late check-out.

6.0/10

My recent stay at Hotel King was, well, a mixed bag. I appreciated the cleanliness of my room and the friendliness of the staff, but the noise levels and the outdated decor left much to be desired. The breakfast was decent enough, but overall, I felt it didn't quite match the standard of other hotels in the area.

Rooms
6.0
My room was basic but clean, though not without its issues. The beds were pushed together but didn't stay that way, and I only had one pillow to work with. The noise from the hallway and lift was quite disruptive, particularly in the mornings.
Service
7.0
The staff truly shone during my stay. They were friendly and attentive, especially during breakfast. However, I did encounter a bit of inconsistency with room service, like a lack of extra pillows and no replenishment of toiletries despite asking.
Location
8.0
The central location was fantastic. Just a short walk to major attractions like the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. However, the busy street below made it quite noisy, especially at night.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast offered a simple selection. With granola, yogurt, and pastries. Not extravagant by any means, but it was enough to get me started for the day. The staff in the breakfast room were lovely and kept everything fresh.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had some nice features, including a rooftop terrace that looked lovely. But it was closed early, which was a bit disappointing. The communal areas were okay, but certainly could use some revitalization.

I appreciated the central location of Hotel King, which was only a short stroll from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. However, I faced several issues during my stay, including cleanliness, a subpar breakfast, and an underwhelming room experience. While the staff was generally helpful, these shortcomings left me feeling that the stay didn't meet my expectations. Overall, the location was its best feature, but I expected more for the price paid. 🏙️

Rooms
5.0
The room was quite cramped, and despite initially appearing clean, I discovered dust in various corners. The bathroom left much to be desired, with issues like low water pressure and a rigid shower head that made it difficult to shower comfortably. I also found the light fixtures lacking, only three small lamps provided a dim ambiance.
Service
5.0
While I encountered a friendly staff member during my stay, communication issues were apparent. The staff was responsive when I needed assistance, but the lack of a warm greeting from the breakfast staff stood out. On one occasion, my room was left wide open after cleaning, which felt concerning.
Location

The hotel's positioning couldn't be better! It's just a five-minute walk to famous attractions like the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, which made exploring the city a breeze. I also appreciated the proximity to the Barberini Metro Station for convenient travel around Rome.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was quite basic, offering little variety. I found the options limited to toast, croissants, and a peculiar cereal. Though the coffee was decent, the overall dining experience left me wanting more, especially considering the charming rooftop terrace where meals were served.
Facilities
5.0
The overall facilities seemed sufficient, but I felt there was room for improvement. The communal areas were spacious and pleasant, though I did encounter some maintenance issues. Housekeeping was diligent in cleaning, but there were noticeable areas that required more attention.

My stay at Hotel King was a mixed bag. On one hand, the central location made exploring attractions like the Trevi Fountain easy, but the room conditions were far from ideal. The air conditioning failed to cool, the bathroom had an unpleasant odor, and the breakfast was rather basic. Overall, it was hard to overlook the drawbacks despite the hotel’s convenient setting. 😕

Rooms

The room was quite outdated and not very clean; I noticed a dirty towel left around and the bathroom had mold. The bedding wasn't comfortable either, making it difficult to have a restful night.

The hotel had pretty basic facilities. I noted the lack of a mini fridge or kettle in the room, which would have added to the comfort of my stay.

I had a mixed experience at Hotel King in Rome. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, making it easy to explore the sights. However, my room was quite dated and felt cramped, which wasn't what I expected. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was decent, but I wish there had been more variety. Overall, it had its perks, but I wouldn't say it was a stellar stay.
